We were greeted by a very polite, well presented waitress. The uniforms are very smart and everyone looked very pleasant. All members of staff were wearing masks and constantly cleaning everything. We were shown to our table which was beside the window and under fairy lights which added a nice homely feel to our visit.

For starters we had the Scotch egg which was the BEST starter I’ve ever had and I’ve visited many restaurants. Mains, I had the Chicken dish which was also amazing. The carrots were full of flavour and the sauce was delicious. My friend had the seafood linguine and said this was the best main she’s ever had. Pudding, we both had the chocolate brownie which was THE BEST BROWNIE EVER! I’ve noticed other people have also mentioned this in the reviews.

We shared a bottle of wine, wine of the month I believe - Cloud Cuckoo Land! This was delicious and the selections of wines were excellent. We also noticed a very well presented gin display and tried The Mermaid Gin and the Glaswegin Gin which were both lovely. We will definitely be back to work our way through the selection.

The staff were all incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I loved everything about the restaurant and I am looking forward to returning in the near future.

  Wonderful food, clever, interesting and classic. This really is worth a visit - or more than one visit as the menu is diverse and specials nights are great value.
